How this retirement calculator works
First, your current monthly expenses are increased by expected inflation until your retirement age. Next, the calculator estimates the corpus needed to cover those expenses for 25 years after retirement, assuming your corpus continues to earn a return above inflation. Finally, it projects your current savings and monthly investments to retirement and compares the two figures.
Retirement planning works best when you start early, because time does a lot of the compounding. Review your plan every year and whenever your income, expenses or goals change. Our financial planning service in Bareilly and mutual fund SIP guidance can help you turn this estimate into a plan.
Frequently asked questions
How much retirement corpus do I need?+
It depends on your expected monthly expenses at retirement, inflation, years in retirement and the return your corpus earns. The calculator inflates today's expenses to your retirement age and estimates the corpus needed to fund 25 years of withdrawals.
Why does inflation matter so much?+
At 6% inflation, expenses roughly double every 12 years. A plan that ignores inflation can look sufficient today and fall well short later.
What should I do if the calculator shows a shortfall?+
Options include increasing monthly investment, starting earlier, reviewing asset allocation, or adjusting retirement age. A consultation can help you compare these trade-offs.
